Kaf of koren?

This exercise is intended to help you test your own theological consistency on a number of issues that Protestants in various denominations have felt important. As a Christian in a cross-cultural setting, you will need to learn the differences between those elements essential to the church in every culture, and those elements which are not.

  • Negotiable: These items (commands, practices, customs) may or may not be valid for the church in any given place or time. [Mark these xe2x80x9cNxe2x80x9d on the list.]

Write out the method you used, in a simple, concise statement. Be completely honest with yourself and accurately describe how you arrived at your decisions. Your principle(s) should account for every decision.

Part Three
Review your decisions again, and answer the following questions:

  • Are your xe2x80x9cessentialxe2x80x9d items so important to you that you could not associate with a group that did not practice all of them?
  • Are there some xe2x80x9cessentialxe2x80x9d items that are a little more xe2x80x9cessentialxe2x80x9d than others? Are there any items that have nothing explicitly to do with Scripture at all?

Binnenkort meer Hiebert.
